Siemens, Zolo Technologies team up on steam generation boilers

Siemens Energy and the US-based company Zolo Technologies have signed a worldwide license agreement for fossil-fueled steam generation boiler applications.
As part of the agreement, the two companies, which have been collaborating in Europe, will more closely integrate their combustion optimization products and actively extend their market activities into the USA, China and other fossil markets in Asia.

Siemens has integrated Zolo Technologies-built ZoloBOSSTM laser-based combustion monitoring system into its SPPA-P3000 process optimization solution for fossil-fueled steam generating power plants.
Siemens Energy Product Management Instrumentation & Electrical vice president Dieter Fluck said, ''By combining both Siemens and Zolo Technologies our customers will benefit from improved efficiency, reduced emissions and higher availability as well as from a huge savings potential for their power plants."
Zolo Technologies CEO Reed Sarver said, "We are excited to expand our collaboration with Siemens into new geographic markets and expect this new agreement will accelerate the penetration of the SPPA-P3000 and ZoloBOSS solution into the marketplace."

The combined Zolo and Siemens solution is designed to utilize real-time, in-furnace combustion information to automatically balance and optimize combustion, thereby significantly improving combustion efficiency, reducing NOx and CO2 emissions and enhancing availability and thermal performance.
Only offered through Siemens, the solution has already proven its capabilities to improve the power generation process in various coal-fired power plants in Europe, US and China.
